MX Linux 23.2 “Libreto” released for your laptop.

I just put into production on my Hp Laptop in physical form the distro MX Linux which is going to be and will be my new Linux distro to work with, since I handle deb and rpm perfectly, because mxlinux is a rock-steady distro, and being very conservative it guarantees me great performance for work and study, hence I am going to make notes and guides for this fabulous distro that I will have on my laptop for a long time, it uses the elegant and simple XFCE desktop and I am sure that I will spend hours and hours tinkering and researching to be able to write on my blog about mxlinux. This distro caught my attention and I really liked it, installing it on my computer, simple, elegant and conservative with the stability and security of the Debian rock. I am looking forward to documenting this new distro.

MX Linux is a lightweight Linux operating system based on Debian Linux stable version, with the core components of antiX, con software adicional creado y empaquetado por MX Community. Se desarrolla como una empresa cooperativa entre las comunidades de antiX y el antiguo MEPIS, con el objetivo de utilizar las mejores herramientas de cada una de estas distribuciones. El ‘nombre’ MX proviene de la M de MEPIS y la X de antiX, un reconocimiento de sus raíces. El objetivo declarado de la comunidad es «combinar un escritorio elegante y eficiente con una configuración simple, alta estabilidad, rendimiento sólido y tamaño medio». MX Linux puede descargarse con los entornos de escritorios XFCE either KDE.

MX Linux is a solid operating system and impresses users because it is reliable and has a simple build. This Linux distribution is based on Debian and antiX and is aimed at more conservative users and employs sysvinit instead of systemd as init predetermined.

He 21/01/2024 The new MX-23.2 release has been released with updated ISO images. This is the second update to our MX-23 release and consists of bug fixes, kernels, and application updates since our original MX-23 release. If you're already running MX-23, there's no need to reinstall it. All packages are available through regular update channels or by installing the modified applications.

Highlights include:

Debian 12.4 “bookworm” base.
New and updated applications.
Some highlights include:

• Installer updates address fstab generation, GUI simplification, and fixes for users of the "toram" live feature.
• New “MX Locale” tool for managing system locale information, default system language, etc.
• New tool “papirus-folder-colors”, which is a fun little tool for creating Papirus family themes with different folder colors.
• The AHS Xfce release includes the liquorix 6.6 kernel, updated firmware, and mesa libraries. An automatic update subscription option is available under MX-PackageInstaller -> Popular Applications -> Kernels.
• The KDE/Plasma ISO replaces webcamoid with kamoso.
• Xfce and fluxbox isos replace webcamoid with guvcview.
• Fixes to mx-comfort themes for some apps that had white text on white backgrounds and black text on black backgrounds.
• “Build Essentials” packages are now included in the ISO, for users who need to compile a driver and are unable to connect.

All kernel updates: The main Xfce and Fluxbox ISOs are updated to the latest 6.1 kernel. AHS now uses the latest 6.1 kernel. Liquorix 6.6.

All ISOs have been updated to the latest packages available in the Debian and MX repositories.

MX Raspberry Pi Respin has also been updated with the latest packages available in the MX and RPiOS repositories.
